Hello and welcome to Jack London Schools

We are located at 12924 Oxnard St. Valley Glen.

Between Grant HS and LA Valley Collage, next to the Orange line.

We serve students between the ages of 14-19 who dropped their gpa, fell behind on credits, had little interest in school, or required a different learning environment other than a large comprehensive high school.

We provide the opportunity to; retake courses, get ahead on credits, and/or graduate with on the job experience, and a career skills certificate!

Our students have the option to co-enroll at LA Valley College thus receiving double credits for passing college level classes.

Our mission is to provide students with personalized instruction, social-emotional support, and occupational skills which will prepare them for college and careers after high school.

The vision is to provide students with the skills, experience, and a plan to attain a job and work to pay for college or provide income to lead a comfortable life.

Because of our small class sizes we are able to provide students with personalized instruction, in-class intervention and on-going technology support. Our teachers and academic counselors work together to provide each student with their own individual graduation plan. We provide our students and parents with individual student progress reports every two weeks and acknowledge their successes at our bi-weekly school wide celebration.

In addition to establishing a close relationship with LA Valley College we have also formed reciprocal relationships with UC Northridge. Through the MOSAIC (Mentoring to Overcome Struggles and Inspire Courage) program, our students receive free in class tutoring, organization support, and goal setting assistance. We also have counselors who provide social-emotional support thru individual and group meetings, as well as counselors who provide assistance for foster and homeless students.

The most impressive aspect of Jack London is that we are a linked learning school. This means that we connect our curriculum to career opportunities for our students. We provide our students with the knowledge and skills, paid internships and on the job experience to attain a job or a career. Our three linked learning pathways are; Arts, Media and Entertainment, Marketing and Sales, and Horticulture. In the Arts, Media and Entertainment pathway our students produce and direct their own movies, and develop an income generating YouTube channel.  The Marketing and Sales pathway provides our students with an opportunity to showcase their professional presentation skills, design their own marketing app, and develop a business plan. The Horticulture pathways and “Soil to plate” program allows our students to learn sustainability for the future while limiting their global footprint. In collaboration with the Tree People program our students receive paid internships and earn essential on the job training.

I strongly encourage you to visit Jack London Schools in person and take advantage of the amazing opportunity to THRIVE!
